Location Data: The extension queries your IP and country code (via a secure lookup to Cloudflare CDN) solely to track global analytics.
User Activity: We log basic application metrics such as extension popup initialization and translation occurrences (language pairs, translation origin type) to evaluate usage.
Website Content: The extension extracts text containers on matching domains (`*.slack.com`) to read messages and insert translated results.

2. How We Use and Process Data

All sensitive user data is handled under strict local-first and transit-only guidelines:

Local Storage

All configuration parameters, custom translation pairs, and API credentials are saved directly on your local device using chrome.storage.local. We do not store or mirror this settings metadata on our servers.

Direct AI Requests

When translating a draft message or chat thread, the text content is dispatched straight from your browser to your self-configured LLM endpoint. No intermediate proxy servers are utilized.

3. Third-Party Integrations & Analytics

To optimize our product performance and observe telemetry, we integrate the following external services:

Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We track basic usage events (e.g. translation frequency, popup configuration actions) and general location data. No actual chat text content or API credentials are ever sent to Google Analytics.
Cloudflare CDN Trace: Used to resolve the user's country location anonymously, cached locally for up to 24 hours.
User-Configured LLM: Translations are processed by the endpoint you choose (e.g. OpenAI or a self-hosted API). The privacy terms of those individual providers govern your translation requests.

4. Data Security and Privacy Guarantees

We guarantee full adherence to safe distribution practices:

We do not sell, rent, or transfer user communications or configuration details to third parties. All translation payload transmissions are executed over secure TLS/HTTPS connections.
